Address: Calle Relatores
Metro: Tirso de Molina (2 minute walk)

The Apartment Relatores has an unbeatable location at the crossroads of five of the most interesting neighborhoods in central Madrid: Sol, Habsburg's Madrid, La Latina, Barrio de las Letras, and Lavapies. All of these areas can be reached in less than 5 minutes walking. At the same time, the apartment is on a very quiet and safe street. You will enjoy the convenience of staying in a quiet location in the very center of Madrid, yet within walking distance of all of the city's main sights, commercial and entertainment areas.

Walk across Plaza de Jacinto Benavente and down Calle Carretas and you will reach Puerta del Sol in 5 minutes. This is one of Madrid's main commercial areas, full of department stores, clothing stores, restaurants, and bars. From Sol you can walk to Gran Via, Chueca and Calle Fuencarral in just 5 more minutes.

You can also walk to Plaza Mayor in 5 minutes and wander around the streets of Habsburg's Madrid (Madrid de los Austrias) and La Latina, with their atmospheric narrow and winding streets. This area has some of Madrid's oldest and most traditional restaurants, mixed together with many trendy bars that are a preferred destination of local Madrileños. On Sundays you can shop at the Rastro, Madrid's unending flea market, which is just minutes away from the apartment.

Cross Calle Atocha and you will enter into the Barrio de las Letras, which has a focal point in Plaza de Santa Ana and Calle Huertas. During the day you will find many art galleries scattered all around. This area is also full terrazas, tapas bars and restaurants, and after dark you will find a lively nightlife. Walking down Atocha street you can also reach in 10-15 minutes the Reina Sofia Museum, the Prado Museum, the Botanical Garden and the lovely Retiro Park.

Nearby Plaza de Tirso de Molina has been recently remodeled and is home to a flower market. Just a few blocks away you will find the vibrant neighborhood of Lavapies, home to a melting pot of cultures and nationalities. This neighborhood offers some of the best ethnic restaurants in Madrid. Lavapies is also well known for its creativity and bohemian atmosphere. Here you will discover independent art houses, cafés, live music venues, and bars with a decidedly alternative attitude.
