The apartment is located in the "Barrio de las Letras", which can be translated as "Literary Madrid." Most streets in this neighborhood are pedestrian, so the streets have very little traffic and are very nice to stroll around.

The name of the neighborhood stems from the fact that in the 16th and 17th century, the Golden Age of Spanish literature, this was the area where writers such as Cervantes, Quevedo, and Lope de Vega lived. In fact, the apartment is right next to the building where Cervantes, the author of Don Quixote, lived. Lope de Vega's Museum House is also on this same street.

The apartment is very near Plaza de Santa Ana, which has many delightful terrazas and restaurants where you can have a drink or dine al fresco. The prestigious Plaza de las Cortes, where the Congress of Spain is located is also a few blocks away. You can also walk in 5 minutes to Puerta del Sol and Gran Via which are Madrid's main shopping areas. Paseo del Prado is also 5 minutes away, where you find both the Prado and the Thyssen museums. You can also walk in less than 10 minutes to the Retiro Park.

If you are looking to experience Madrid's famous nightlife, just walk to calle Huertas a few blocks away. This is one of the main dining and nightlife districts of Madrid. Here you will find a huge assortment of bars, live music venues, restaurants and cafés.
